The most important thing to worry about pre-cruise is getting to the ship
before it leaves. There are several ways of doing this. First,
if you live within driving distance of the ship, you should have no problem.
This is not as tongue-in-cheek as you might think. The number of
people on our cruise who were from Ft. Lauderdale was extremely high.
Unfortunately, for those of us in Texas, our choices are a lot more
restrictive. We can go to Galveston for a western Caribbean cruise on
a limited number of ships, or we can fly to one of the Florida ports.
Currently out of Texas we have four ships, two Carnival (old and smaller and
two Royal Caribbean. Next year the market will get much more
interesting with the introduction of one of the largest Princess ships, the
Grand Princess.
